THE STORY BEHIND HANS J. WEGNER CH108 COFFEE TABLE
Despite producing over 500 chair designs in his lifetime, and being so closely associated with his use of wood, the CH108 marked serious a departure from Wegner's usual work. And by looking into the medium with fresh eyes, it allowed him to produce this georgeous 1970 work, which included all of the symmetry and grace of his chair designs, while allowing his work to fit into even more decors and design schemes. As a result, it is one of his most celebrated designs.

Hans J. Wegner
1914-2007 (Denmark)
Danish furniture designer, Hans J. Wegner was a pioneer of Organic Functionality, which seamlessly merged natural shapes with practical applications. His designs significantly contribute to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many became design icons. His most iconic designs include the Y Chair, the CH07 Lounge Chair, the Ox Chair, the Style Hoop Chair, The Chair and the Wing Chair.
